Tools specially made for the hands of Apose watches
There are only ten manufacturers of watch hands in the world, four of which are located in Europe, three of which are in Switzerland. La Practique is one of them.
Located in Morteau in Franche-Comté, the cradle of French watchmaking, the company, founded in 1907, is now managed by the grandson of the founder. It employs 40 people, cutters, toolmakers, polishers, electroplaters, all passionate about this meticulous and constantly renewed work.
La Pratique produces, for the big names in watchmaking, several million hands each year requiring more than 10,000 different tools. And yet, to respect the original design of the Apose hands, the specialist had to design new tools.
Elegance down to the tips of the hands
On Apose watches, the hour and minute hands have a design that gives them a real presence above the very sober dial. They are thus made up of an axis covered on either side by two fins. The silver coated brass assembly is polished to a luminous finish.
Marking the pride of French manufacturing
In contrast, the seconds hand has a matte finish and in its short, wider part, a small hexagon is cut out, reminiscent of the very French character of Apose watches. Such specificities require work of great precision and extreme finesse which is a challenge worthy of La Pratique.
