Won bet
On 21 April 2022, Apose launched the first watch of the 21st century to be made entirely in France.
This event, which many connoisseurs thought impossible, was the key stage in an astonishing adventure that began 2 years earlier, when the two founders of Apose took up the challenge of creating a prestigious 100% French watch brand.
The first Apose collection was 80% French.
In fact, the “Swiss made” automatic movement used in the first Apose watches was manufactured entirely in the Swiss and French Jura regions by Soprod, an industrial subsidiary of the Festina Group.
It was a movement from the Pequignet manufacture that made it possible to win the bet of a first 100% French manufacture. But the production available from Pequignet was not enough to ensure the success and development of the Apose collections.
An exceptional movement
The new France Ébauches automatic movement offers precision and reliability. It has a 44-hour power reserve and beats at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), enabling it to achieve exceptional chronometric performance (adjusted in accordance with the ISO 3159 standard).
The France Ébauches movement is equipped with the highest-performance shock absorber on the market, the Incabloc® double cone, to guarantee unequalled robustness for the regulating mechanism. Its solidity and resistance are also enhanced by the construction of a through balance bridge, a distinctive feature found in the most prestigious watch brands. The movement’s meticulous aesthetics are underlined by a hollowed-out bridge offering an unobstructed view of the regulating organ, as well as an openworked oscillating weight that contributes to its distinctive charm.
From September, Apose will be offering two new watch models equipped with the France Ebauches movement, featuring a complication patented by the brand and an exclusive decoration specific to Apose.
